Online Ordering FAQ

Purchasing Textbooks and Supplies

Navigate to the textbook finder page and use the drop-down menus to add your classes. Your course and section numbers can be found on your student schedule. Click "Add Course to List". A gray box will appear on the right side of the screen that lists the class name. You can repeat this process for each class you're taking. Click "Get Your Books" when you have added your classes.

You will be taken to a new page with a list of all the required textbooks and materials for your classes, along with additional notes and comments. From here, you can add items to your cart and checkout as usual.

We do not recommend using the search bar at the top of the page to search for your books, even if you already know the title or ISBN. The search bar is designed for general merchandise items, and may not accurately find in-stock textbooks.

This class is part of our "First-Day Digital Content", or "FDDA" program, which means a digital copy of your required textbook is already included as part of your class enrollment, and no additional purchases may be required.

We strongly recommend reading through the FDDA FAQ page to find out how the textbooks for FDDA courses work.

You may see multiple listings for textbooks that each have the "Required Pick 1 by Author" label. These are typically put on multiple editions of the same textbook, where only one is needed for the class.

Financial aid updates and information are viewable on your ctcLink Student Homepage. By clicking the "Tasks" tile a checklist may appear if further actions are required.

In the Financial Aid Tile, you will be able to view your offered awards once you are packaged.

Once you have a financial aid award letter and have accepted those awards, active financial aid funds will be applied towards tuition and fee balances first. Any remaining financial aid will be disbursed through BankMobile to your selected refund preference. (When setting up BankMobile you can choose to use the bank mobile account, have the funds forwarded to another bank account, have a paper check sent to you).

Once the funds are on your BankMobile card, you may use that card information to purchase class materials online from Clark College Bookstore. If you choose the check option, you can deposit the check into your bank account and then pay for books with your debit or credit card.

About eBooks

While the majority of the ebook titles offered by Clark Bookstore are instant delivery codes sent via email, some ebook codes are only offered through physical code cards that must either be shipped to you or picked up from the store.

All of our physical codes will have "Physical Code" written in the title of the item.

If you believe that you ordered a digital code, and did not receive the activation email immediately after purchase, contact us along with your web order number, and our staff will investigate the issue and re-send the activation code.

Ebooks for FDDA classes are available through your instructor's Canvas website at no additional cost. While the Bookstore offers optional print editions of the textbook, we do not send out access codes for FDDA ebooks. To troubleshoot FDDA ebook issues, we recommend reaching out to your instructor first, and then to the publisher of the ebook.

Some titles require two separate activations on separate websites. Typically, these titles include Cengage Unlimited subscriptions, and content accessed on publisher websites such as Pearson. Once you activate the code that the Bookstore sends you, you may have to claim a second code that you would then use to activate on the publisher's website. If you are experiencing difficulties with this process, contact us and send us a description of the issue along with screenshots if possible.

Order Cancellations

Orders are cancelled if the payment card has been declined, if the item is no longer in stock and we are not expecting to receive more, or if there were items that were ineligible for a specific payment method or promotion on your order.

Log in to your account and visit the "Order History" page to see a list of your recent orders. After clicking the "View Details" link next to your order, you can view the order comments and see the reasoning behind the canceled items. The details page may take a few hours to update with the most recent status.

To submit a cancellation request, send us a message or contact us by replying to your confirmation email and include your web order number and the item(s) you wish to cancel. You will receive an email confirmation when the order or item(s) have been successfully cancelled.

If you placed an order via the in-store pickup option and wish to cancel it, please let us know to avoid the 10% restocking fee.

If you placed an order to be shipped to your door, we will try our best to cancel it before processing, but you may need to return it for a refund if it has already been shipped out.

Substituted and Backordered Items

The inventory displayed online is not "real-time". If your order preference is not available when your order is pulled, substitutions for the lowest priced equivalent items will be made and you will be charged the difference without additional notice. Items may be refunded per refund policy.

If you ordered an item and we have run out of stock but plan to get more, we will put that item, or in some cases, the entire order on backorder. Generally, we try to get inventory as quickly as possible when this happens and try to provide an estimated date of arrival if one is available.

If you no longer need a back-ordered item, you can simply cancel the order. To submit a cancellation request, send us a message or email bookstoreweb@clark.edu and include your web order number and the item(s) you wish to cancel. You will receive an email confirmation when the order has been successfully canceled.

We never charge your payment method until the item has shipped or is ready to be picked up.

Delivery and Pickup Options

We offer two services for those ordering items online. In-store pickup allows you to pay online and pick up your items from the bookstore when they are ready. UPS Ground shipping allows you to buy online and have the item shipped to you.

Note: Not all items are eligible for UPS shipping. These items are marked as being eligible for in-store pickup only. If you select the UPS shipping option for one of these items, your order will either be cancelled, or changed to in-store pickup.

Unfortunately, we are unable to ship some items. We indicate this by putting "Pick Up Only" in the item title. Common occurrences of these items include some art supplies, nursing kits, and chemistry kits. If you placed an order to be shipped and have an ineligible item, your order will be changed to in-store pickup.

If you need an item that is ineligible for shipping but are unable to pick it up at the bookstore during business hours, please contact us before placing the order for accommodation.

If the eBook has "Physical Code" in the title, it is only available as a code printed on a physical card or envelope, and it will either be shipped to you, or available for pickup, depending on the selected option.

Instant-delivery "digital content" eBooks will be emailed to you regardless of which shipping option is selected at checkout.

Sponsored Agency (A/R) Funds

If you wish to bill your sponsored agency (A/R) when checking out online, proceed to the tender page. When inputting your billing information, select "A/R Charge" as your payment method and follow the prompts to input your ctcLink ID number.

Note: If you are renting a book or calculator from us, you will need to put in your credit card information as collateral in case the rented item(s) is not returned. More information about rentals can be found here.

You may need to add a secondary payment method depending on restrictions on the items you ordered or the amount of available funds in your A/R account. Simply repeat the first step, selecting your next payment method. The secondary payment method will automatically be added alongside your A/R account.

Please contact us or your agency counselor for specific information. Ineligible items purchased using A/R funds will be canceled.

Each term, you must use your funds by the fifth Thursday of the term. After that, you can no longer utilize the A/R Funds and will have to pay out of pocket.

No, they do not. Your A/R funds are distributed to you with a limit you can use each quarter for the items your agency allows.

There are various agencies that contribute funds to students for class materials. A good place to start is by contacting Workforce Education Services (WES) to ask if you are eligible to be covered by any of the sub-agencies of their organization. You can check by emailing WES@clark.edu or you may visit the WES office in Gaiser Hall at Clark College. You can also view their Clark College web page here.

Troubleshooting Issues When Ordering Online

If a class is not listed, it may mean that no book is required, or that a decision is still pending. Check back before classes start to see if the status has changed or contact your instructor. For classes that have both a lecture section and a lab section, please check your lecture section for textbook and supply needs.

If you think this is a mistake, send us a message so we can confirm this is the case or look into the issue.

We recommend using the website on a desktop or laptop computer, using the Chrome, Edge, or Firefox web browsers. If you are still experiencing difficulties, want to report a site issue, or require accomodation to browse the website, please contact us.
