RENTAL TERMS OF AGREEMENT
1. Rented items remain the property of Clark College and in accepting the terms of the rental agreement, the student accepts the responsibility to care for the rental item(s) as outlined:
- Returned rental item(s) to Clark College Bookstore will be in original and re-usable condition free of tears, liquid damage, and writing or excessive highlighting. Clark College Bookstore reserves the right to examine each rental return to determine acceptable condition. Any damage at the time of rental must be noted.
- If items do not meet return conditions the student agrees to pay the full cost of a NEW replacement, in addition to any applicable late fees incurred.
2. Rentals must be returned to the Bookstore no later than the following deadline:
- Rental returns after this deadline, will be assessed a $10.00 late fee per business day, not to exceed $100.00. It is the student's responsibility to return item(s) rented under this program by the deadline to avoid late fees.
3. Replacement cost for rentals that have been lost or do not meet the returns conditions must be
paid to the Bookstore no later than the following deadline:
4. Any replacement costs paid after the deadline will be assessed a $10.00 late fee per business day in addition to the replacement cost, not to exceed $100.00 in late fees plus the replacement cost.
5. The Clark College Bookstore will place the student records on hold for any rental item(s) not returned or replacement fees not paid by the deadline. Additionally, if the student's financial rental resolution is not met, the students records will remain on hold, the student will not be eligible for the rental program in future quarters, and the student's case will be forwarded to the business office and subject to collections. Any debt turned over to a collection agency, will incur a collection fee added to the balance. Until payment in full is received, all of the student's records will remain on hold, and the student will be unable to receive grades or transcripts, and will not be allowed to register for classes. If/when rental resolution is met it may take up to one week for record holds to be released.
6. Rental fees are refundable in accordance with the refund policy period.
